Small Animal Cataract Veterinary Referrals
A full small animal cataract service is now offered at Eastcott Veterinary Referrals. A bi-manual technique is used with our state of the art new Alexos phacoemulsification machine, Zeiss dual head operating microscope, Weiss handmade micro-surgical instruments and Stryker micro-surgical chair. An ERG machine will be added to the service shortly.
Cataract Surgery prices include 3 months of post-operative check-ups, but do not include ongoing drugs and further procedures.
Some Recent Small Animal Cataract Cases Seen
Diabetic cataracts in an 8-year old Minature Dachshund dog before and after cataract surgery with new synthetic lenses
Congenital cataract in the right eye of a 2-year old British Shorthair Male Cat and 2 months post cataract surgery. Note the clear visual axis, normal retinal reflection and comfort of the right eye (the left eye is normal, but the retinal reflection is not showing in the picture). The concentric rings seen in the right eye are integral to the replacement synthetic intraocular lens from Acrivet.
