About the Post Registration Programme (PRP)

The veterinary nursing post registration programme is a 12-month programme that combines both professional skills training with hands on clinical veterinary nursing, in a UK based, specialist-led, multidisciplinary referral practice. It is open to any nurses that are between 0 and 12 months qualified wanting to work in a referral setting. You will rotate around a variety of core discipline areas such as surgery where you will be involved in the perioperative nursing of complex surgical cases, for example, thoracotomies and portosystemic shunt ligations, wards where you will be involved in the nursing care of patients undergoing blood transfusions and chemotherapy, or diagnostics where you will be involved in the nursing of patients undergoing MRI and those undergoing endoscopy. In addition to this you will be supported as you complete a knowledge summary and a clinical audit of relevance to your PRP centre. You are given set time off clinics each week in order to do this

Our five educational days across the year will focus primarily on professional skills such as resilience and wellbeing, personality profiling and career progression.
