Small Animal Surgeon

Join The Team

We are recruiting a board-certified surgeon to join our multi-disciplinary team of specialists. We would also welcome applications from residency-trained or board-eligible surgeons.

The successful candidate will adopt a senior position within the surgical team during an exciting time of expansion. Experience in minimally invasive surgery and IR techniques would be an advantage but further training is available for the right candidate who wishes to help further develop these areas at Eastcott. We are happy to provide training where needed and to support the successful candidate in their areas of interest.

We are looking for a surgeon who is committed to excellence both in patient care and in communication with clients, colleagues and referring vets. We are able to accommodate candidates wishing to do soft tissue or orthopaedic surgery or a combination of both. You will join a surgical team of four surgeons and a highly trained team of surgical nurses. You will be working within our multi-disciplinary specialist-led team which includes anaesthetists, radiologists and an ECC team working out of our purpose-built ICU. We benefit from working alongside a large internal medicine team, our ophthalmology service, and dental/oral/maxillofacial surgeons, meaning that there are frequent opportunities for inter-disciplinary collaboration. Surgical facilities at Eastcott Veterinary Referrals are excellent and include Storz HD Laparoscopy/Thoracoscopy stacks, on-site 64-slice CT, on-site 1.5T MRI and Fluoroscopy with DSA and Road-Mapping capabilities. We offer a full Soft Tissue Referral Service and benefit from a truly diverse case-load

Eastcott Referrals is situated in Swindon, between Bristol and London and close to the Cotswolds and the North Wessex Downs Area of Natural Beauty. We have recently completed a major extension and refurbishment which means the successful candidate will be able to take advantage of the new cutting-edge facilities. It’s a great time to join our dynamic and motivated team that has benefited from the support of the Linnaeus Group and Mars Petcare. This investment in our state-of-the-art facilities has allowed us to provide the best care to our patients, and the opportunity to perform the most up-to-date and innovative techniques. We encourage our staff to undertake further professional and personal development and provide a friendly and supportive environment in which our clinicians can flourish and enjoy their work.
