Alys Cooper

Veterinary Physiotherapist

Alys graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Animal Science from the University of Reading in 2012 and went on to obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University in 2016, in order to treat both large and small animals. In 2016 Alys set up her mobile business ‘Hands On Animal Physiotherapy’ alongside working part-time for Dick White Referrals, Cambridgeshire, where she worked within a large physiotherapy team in the neurology department. At Dick Whites Alys gained a lot of hydrotherapy experience, and there she based her MSc project on ‘The effects of laser on spinal pain following spinal surgery’.

In 2019 Alys joined Eastcott Referrals as their Veterinary Physiotherapist, treating both inpatients and outpatients from first opinion and referral departments. She is fully insured and a member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP), and is passionate about doing a job she loves. She is keen to be up to date with current research by attending regular courses and continual professional development days.

Alys is both a keen dog owner and horsewoman and has a particular interest in neurology.
