If your pet is suspected to be suffering from heart or circulatory system disease, they will be referred to our Cardiology team.

Cardiac problems are often identified in general practice but benefit from specialist expertise to fully evaluate the underlying causes and provide owners with accurate prognostic advice.

Our cardiology service can investigate and treat a wide range of conditions including:

• Arrhythmia – abnormal heart rhythm, skipped beats, missed beats
• Cardiomyopathy
• Fainting – collapse, dizzy spells, syncope
• Congenital heart disease
• Heart failure
• Heart tumours – cancer
• Holter monitor fitting
• Pericardial effusion – cardiac tamponade
• Heart murmurs
• PDA – patent ductus arteriosus
• Poor exercise tolerance
• Breathing problems
• Pulmonary hypertension

Cardiology Fixed Prices

The following investigative procedures include a consultation with a Cardiology Specialist and are available for pet owners at a fixed price.

Initial Cardiac Assessment: heart murmur investigation or possible heart failure signs Includes consultation, echocardiogram (2D and Doppler studies), ECG and blood pressure £1,000
Initial Cardiac Assessment: collapse or fainting Includes consultation, blood pressure, echocardiogram (2D and Doppler studies), 12-lead ECG, and 24hr Holter ECG monitoring £1,500
Puppy & Kitten Assessment: (less 12months) – assessment of an asymptomatic heart murmur Consultation with a cardiology Specialist and echocardiogram (2D and Doppler studies) £400
