Juan Martin Alonso

Juan graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2015. After graduation, he worked in small animal practice and completed a small animal rotating internship at a recognised referral centre in Spain.

In 2018, Juan moved to the United Kingdom, where he spent three years in first opinion practice and completed a postgraduate certificate in veterinary ophthalmology.

In 2021, he undertook an ophthalmology internship at Optivet Referrals, where he later completed the European Residency programme in Veterinary Ophthalmology. He has now joined the Eastcott team and working towards sitting his Specialist exams. Juan is highly committed to managing all types of ocular conditions, with particular interests in corneal disease and glaucoma.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, outdoor activities such as hiking and scuba diving, and cooking for friends.
