Internal medicine diplomate joins Eastcott Team

We’ve boosted our expert team with the appointment of newly-qualified Internal Medicine Diplomate Catarina Amorim.

Catarina, who graduated from Portugal’s University of Porto in 2013, has joined our six-strong, specialist-led internal medicine team.

Catarina, who moved to the UK in 2014, and completed her three-year residency at AMVS in June, going on to pass her American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine specialty exam.

Head of Internal Medicine Matt Best said: “We are very excited to have Cat joining us at Eastcott as the sixth member of our medicine team.

“She brings a great range of experience and is fantastic with the patients and their owners.

“With the addition of Catarina, we look forward to expanding the high-quality medicine service that we already offer here at Eastcott.

“Our fantastic facilities, including an intensive care unit for our more critical patients, is supported by a top class, caring medical nursing team.

“We embrace a multidisciplinary approach with the team working closely with their colleagues from across the hospital to ensure the best possible care for each patient.”

Catarina said: “I am particularly interested in immune mediated disease, haematology and endoscopy and I’m hoping to continue to improve my clinical skills as part of the brilliant Eastcott team.

“Outside of work I enjoy boxing, travelling around the world and spending time with my two rescue cats and Spaniel.”
