MP praises state-of-the-art veterinary referral centre

The MP for South Swindon has visited us to see first-hand the results of a £3 million extension and refurbishment programme at the hospital.

Sir Robert Buckland met with our team of veterinary specialists, who provide round the clock care for much-loved pets from across the region and further afield.

The proud owner of a rescued tabby cat himself, Sir Robert was impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities on offer at Eastcott when given a tour by hospital director Niki Burton.

Sir Robert said: “Our veterinary professionals are hugely important and I was genuinely impressed by the scale, facilities and talented clinicians at Eastcott.

“It’s no exaggeration that the treatment which animals at Eastcott receive rivals that of humans. The investment into the hospital over the past two years is clearly of great value to the community and beyond, and to the animals cared for at the hospital.”

Eastcott’s hospital director Niki Burton said: “It was a pleasure to show Sir Robert around the hospital.

“Our hospital is a real statement of intent, a clear signal we are committed to delivering the highest level of excellence in treatment and care, and the team here were very pleased to welcome him.

“We have invested a lot of time, money and energy into ensuring we can deliver the highest quality of care to our patients and we’re very proud of the results.”

Following a significant 18-month refurbishment programme which began in 2020, Eastcott Veterinary Referrals boasts cutting-edge facilities, including a new Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) unit, seven operating theatres and a top-class investigation room.

The expansion of the referral hospital was completed during the pandemic and is the result of a £3 million investment.
