New dentistry resident strengthens world-class team

We have recently welcomed a new resident to our world-class dentistry team.  Hannah van Velzen joins us as a resident in Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

The dentistry team at Eastcott is spearheaded by Andrew Perry, an EBVS European Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry, and supported by Peter Southerden, AVDC Founding Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – one of just 14 founding fellows in the world and the only one practicing in Europe.

Hannah joins us from Lynwood Vets, in Wimborne, where she led their primary care dentistry service.

She graduated from Utrecht University with a BSc MSc MRCVS and has since gained experience as a general practitioner, during which she developed a keen interest in dentistry and is currently working towards achieving the ESAVS Postgraduate Certificate. Hannah is also the current secretary of the British Veterinary Dental Association.

She said: “I am truly excited to have been selected to join the renowned team here at Eastcott. The level of skill and experience the entire team holds is second-to-none and I am really looking forward to learning everything I can from such experienced clinicians.”

Commenting on Hannah’s appointment, Andrew said: “Hannah joined us at the start of the year and it is already very evident she is truly passionate about animal welfare and learning everything she can about teeth, which is exactly the kind of energy we want in our team.

“We are delighted to have her as a part of our team and look forward to the experience and passion she will bring to the table.”

When she isn’t drilling and filling, Hannah can be found reading, cross stitching, walking with her dog or improving her surgical dexterity playing computer games!
