Eastcott Referrals Appoint New Clinical Director

Duncan Barnes new clinical director.

We have appointed orthopaedic specialist, Duncan Barnes as our new clinical director.

Duncan was formerly Head of Orthopaedics at the Swindon-based referral centre and will continue to take orthopaedic surgical referrals alongside his new role.

He takes over as Clinical Director from Peter Southerden, who is now the managing director at the state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary practice.

Duncan said: “I am very excited to start my new position as Clinical Director of Eastcott Referrals.During 12 years at the practice, I’ve seen it grow and helped to set up the orthopaedic referral service.

“I’m looking forward to leading and supporting our fantastic team as we move into our new hospital.”

Peter added: “Duncan was the perfect choice for the role. He has a wealth of expertise and experience in the profession and a deep knowledge and understanding of how we operate here at Eastcott Referrals.”

Duncan graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2001. He is a member of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) congress programme committee, has lectured on orthopaedics and had numerous veterinary research papers published.

Outside of work, Duncan enjoys spending time with his young family and his dog and cat, Jack and Dave. He also enjoys running, swimming and cycling and being treasurer of his local pre-school.
