Eastcott Veterinary Referrals host dentistry CPD

Thanks to everyone who attended our free veterinary dentistry CPD on the evening of 7th February 2013. Great turnout of vets at this popular dentistry CPD; we had over 40 vets attend. We feel this is an indication of increasing recognition of the importance of animal dentistry and oral veterinary surgery within the profession and individual practices.

Peter Southerden granted RCVS recognised specialist status

Peter Southerden has just been granted RCVS recognised specialist status and is now both a European and RCVS recognised specialist in Veterinary Dentistry.

Veterinary Pleuraport Implantation

A Pleuraport is a new, fully implantable type of chest drain that can be used in any case that would otherwise need repeated thoracic drainage, either for therapeutic or sampling purposes - It can also be used to lavage the thoracic cavity or even administer intra-pleural chemotherapy.

Chest Wall Deformities in Kittens (Pectus Excavatum)

Pectus Excavatum is a deformity of the chest wall where the caudal sternum deviates dorsally, which can significantly decrease the thoracic volume and therefore the ability of the lungs to fully expand.

Tim Charlesworth granted RCVS recognised specialist status

Tim Charlesworth has just been granted RCVS recognised specialist status in small animal soft tissue surgery.
