If you read the post on this blog titled First Impressions! on the 7th of December you will have read about our patient who had three badly damaged canine teeth. This post describes the cementation of the crowns to the prepared teeth.

Jaw fractures are a common sequel to trauma such as road accidents and dog bites in cats. Fracture fixation can be challenging but can sometimes be achieved using a relatively simple technique which involves bonding the canine teeth together.

How well a patient will recover and cope following jaw surgery is a common concern for both vet and owner. Most patients do remarkably well and return to normal function relatively quickly even after major resections.

We are very sad to hear the announcement that Kamal has died. We had the privilege of meeting Kamal last year when a team from Eastcott Veterinary Referrals went to Bristol Zoo to perform a root canal filling on his fractured canine tooth.

Dogs love chewing but chewing hard or abrasive objects can cause severe damage to teeth. This can weaken the affected teeth and predispose to tooth fracture.
