Referral Surgery Nurse (Full time and part time roles available)

We have an exciting new opportunity available to join the Referral Surgery Nursing Team as our busy department is expanding.

We are a tier 3, ISFM gold status, multidisciplinary veterinary hospital that prides itself on providing high standards of care to both referral and primary care patients.

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to fill the full time, permanent position as one of our Referral Surgery Nurses.

Our surgery team currently consist of 12 surgery/theatre nurses, 3 surgery technicians and 8 surgeons and between us cover soft tissue, orthopaedics and neurology. We work closely alongside the imaging team to perform advanced pre-operative and post-operative imaging including radiology, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI.

The position will involve rotating through the three theatre disciplines – soft tissue, orthopaedics and neurology. It will be mainly an anaesthesia focussed role with general theatre tasks including scrubbing into referral procedures alongside it.  Relevant CPD and certificates are strongly encouraged in all our referral nurses.

We would ideally prefer our candidate to have previous referral experience or be confident and competent in anaesthetising a range of patients for surgery to include emergency and critically ill patients. However, this is not essential as in house training and support will be fully provided.
